Beluga Micro Safety Kit

The Beluga Micro Safety Kit is something every paddler should be equipped with for safe paddling. The five items included in the Beluga Micro safety kit will give you peace of mind while out on the water.

The throwbag is essential because it has so many functions when out on an adventure. You can use the throwbag to tie your boat to shore(especially needed in tidal zones), it can also be used to tow another kayaker in a pinch, and the extra rope comes in handy around camp on multi-day or overnight trips. This is a piece of gear we just would not go without.

A bilge pump is designed to remove any remaining water in your vessel after a capsize, and can also be used to remove any water that has splashed into the craft from waves. The great thing is it can be used while you are still sitting inside the kayak. The bilge pump is equipped with floatation and ergonomic handle.

A Paddle Floats main purpose is to be used for self rescue. They may not look cool strapped to the deck of your kayak, but a paddle float can also be used for practising kayak rolls which does look super cool! In an emergency a paddle float can be strapped to each side of a kayak paddle and used as an outrigger for extra stability and floatation.

A paddle leash is for sure one smart piece of gear. Just think about reaching for a snack or camera to snag a quick photo of family or wildlife and once you're done with your snack or taking the photo you realize your paddle is 10 feet away from you and floating away fast.

The Safety Whistle and waterproof lamp are great signalling devices. Both items should be regularly maintained and equipped while out paddling.
