Kuat Piston SR Roof Mount Bike Rack

The Kuat Piston SR takes all the great features of the hitch mounted Kuat Piston Pro X and elevates them into a premium roof mounted bike rack. It includes Kuats patented OneTap hydro-pneumatic tire arms that ensure no contact with the frame of your bike. To operate the OneTap system you simply press the lever and watch as the cradle arm opens automatically to a fixed position. To ensure your Kuat Piston SR with stands the most unforgiving conditions it has been powder coating with Tiger Drylac, the struts have a genuine Kashima coating, and all hardware is stainless steal with an automotive grade finish.

Universal mounting hardware

The Piston SR can be mounted onto your crossbars in two different ways. It can be track mounted into the top channel on crossbars that have a track such as the Thule Wingbar or Yakima Jetstream, alternatively it can be mounted around a crossbar with a depth between .375" and 1.75" and a maximum width of 4.5".

Fit a wide variety of bikes with ease

The Piston SR utilizes Kuats FastFit tool free wheel chock system that allows you to quickly adjust the cradles arms to accommodate anything from an 18" to 29" tires. The Piston SR can also be used to carry bikes up to 5 inches in width, if you have fenders there is a fender kit that is sold separately allowing you to safely hold your bike.

Integrated locking

The Piston SR includes an integrated high strand 10mm cable lock to ensure your bike stays attached to your rack while it is out of your sight. The mounting hardware also uses a security allen key to prevent theft of the bike rack from your crossbars.

More than just a roof bike rack

The Kuat Piston SR can not only be used as a roof bike rack but also as a hitch mounted bike rack by purchasing the Kuat Piston SR 2" Hitch Adapter. When used as a hitch mount bike rack the capacity of the Piston SR is increased to 100lb.
