Thule Universal Change Key D1251 - For insertion or removal of Thule One-Key System lock cores

The Thule Universal Change Key D1251 is used to insert or remove Thule One-Key lock cores from Thule lock housings. It works by dropping all of the locking tabs to one side of the lock core, including the rearmost tab. The Thule Universal Change Key only works on lock cores in the unlocked position. If you are trying to remove or swap a lock that is in the locked position, you must first unlock it using your like-numbered Thule key.

To install a lock core into a lock housing:

1. Insert the Thule Universal Change Key into the lock core
   
2. Align the tabs along the side of the lock core with the opening of the lock housing
   
3. Insert the lock core with Thule Universal Change Key into the lock housing
   
4. With your finger holding the lock core in place, remove the Thule Universal Change Key
   
5. Your lock core is now installed and can be locked and unlocked with your regular Thule keys

To remove a lock core from a lock housing:

1. Make sure the lock core you are trying to remove is in the unlocked position (or in the case of rooftop boxes, turned to the half point removal angle)
   
2. Insert the Thule Universal Change Key into the lock core
   
3. Wiggle the lock core out using the Thule Universal Change Key (to assist, push from behind if rear of lock core is accessible)
