The rudder blade keeps the kayak tracking straight but can also aid with turning the kayak by pushing on the foot pedals in the direction you would like to paddle. With a ruddered kayak the paddler won’t have to continually fight wind, waves and current to maintain a desired course using correcting strokes which is really energy draining especially on a longer multi day trips. Comfort is so crucial when spending the day on the water and the New Flex Seat System allows for boat loads of adjustability. Along with integrated thighbraces and the adjustable footbraces the Edge 14.5 ensures a comfortable paddling position for a wide variety of paddlers sizes. Dual drain plugs make rinsing out the boat a breeze. It's smartly mounted security bar make it incredibly easy to lock up at the cabin, home, in a truck bed or to an existing car rack system.
