Sit-on-top kayaks are best used for paddling near a lakeside cabin, as a kid's boat, or for paddling in warm weather and warm water. Sit-on-top kayaks are easy to get on (even in deep water) and off of and are great if you would feel too claustrophobic inside a sit in kayak cockpit.
