Racks For Cars is proud to sponsor the 2014 Tour of Alberta by providing the roof rack and bike rack systems used on the rider support vehicles throughout the tour. This year we will be rackin' up the vehicles with the Thule 450 Crossroad system, Thule 594XT Sidearm upright bike carriers, and the Thule 527 Paceline Fork Mount Bike Carrier, and finished off with the Thule 872XT Fairings.

After the Tour you will have the oppurtunity to purchase the racks used during the race. You can even pre-order the rack system of bike carrier you wish to purchase on our website or by dropping by either of our Edmonton store locations.

Which Thule Roof Racks and Bike Racks will be for sale?

We will be selling all the rack systems used during the Tour at a discount from the regular retail price. This is a great oppurtunity to save money since the racks are only used for one week and only used to carry road bikes. All racks will be inspected to ensure they have all the proper hardware and are working properly prior to being sold.

Thule 594XT Sidearm Upright Bike Carrier

The Thule 594XT Sidearm allows you to leave both wheels on your bike while loaded. This prevents you from having to store extra wheels in the vehicle. The Sidearm makes no contact to the frame of your bike, just to the front and back wheel, making it great for use on all types of bikes including bikes with carbon fibre frames. Thule 527 Paceline Fork Mount Bike Carrier

The Thule 527 Paceline is a fork mounted bike carrier which secures to your front fork and has a wheel strap to secure your rear wheel onto the D-Shaped tray. Fork Mounted bike carriers offer a lower profile, more aerodynamic ride for your bike and can be easier to load on taller vehicles. The Paceline will fit bikes with 9mm drop outs but adapters can be purchased if you have mountain bike with 15mm or 20mm Thru Axles. Click here to pre-order.

 

 

Thule 450 Crossroad Towers

The Thule 450 Crossroad Towers are combined with a set of Thule Load Bars to create a solid and secure roof rack system which will attach to most vehicles with a factory raised side rail. Thule LB58 Load Bars

Thule LB58 Load Bars are used with many types of Thule Towers, including the 450 Crossroad Towers we talked about above, to create a solid, secure rack system on nearly any vehicle on the market. Thule 872XT 44" Fairing
