For Shipments within Canada
All purchases are in Canadian dollars.
Rack For Cars Inc. will get your purchase delivered to you quickly. We have two convenient store locations in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, that are centrally located to provide very easy shipping across the country. With the large quantity of inventory and vast array of products Racks For Cars Inc. is able to get your purchase to your doorstep right away.
Racks For Cars Inc. uses standard ground shipping for all items purchased through our website unless expedited ground shipping has been chosen when making your purchase. We utilize major carriers such as UPS, Purolator, Canpar, and FedEx as our primary shipping companies as well as select trucking companies where required, unless otherwise specified.
Free Shipping on Orders over $200
Racks For Cars Inc. offers Free Shipping on orders over $200 before taxes within Canada.
Some destinations within Canada may not qualify for free shipping. We will contact you prior to shipping your order and will provide you with a shipping quote.
Not all items will qualify for free shipping. In these cases shipping prices will be calculated at checkout based on the products you are purchasing and the shipping address you have entered on the checkout page. Once you have added items to your cart you can enter your shipping details on the checkout page. The shipping prices will be automatically calculated and will update as you add or remove items from your cart.
Shipping Roof Top Tents
When purchasing a roof top tent for delivery from Racks For Cars Inc. the roof top tent will be shipped by a trucking company to the trucking companies depot nearest your location. Delivery directly to your address, whether residential or commercial, is not included. If you wish to have the roof top tent delivered directly to your address additional shipping fees would apply. Please contact us for a quote or if you have any questions regarding the shipping process. In some cases, there may not be a shipping depot near your location and other arrangements may need to be made. Shipments to remote locations may incur additional shipping fee, we will contact you prior to shipping.
Roof Top Tents may be shipped directly from the manufacturer or our distributors and may incur additional processing time. In some cases, the manufacturer may not have the tent you ordered in stock and the order will be placed on back order and shipped from the manufacturer once available. We will contact you by phone or email if this is the case.
Shipping Cargo Boxes, Kayaks, and other Oversized Items
When purchasing a cargo box, kayak, or other oversized item for delivery from Racks For Cars Inc. the order will be shipped by a trucking company rather than a parcel courier due to size of the item. To ship these types of items we require a commercial address. If you do not have a commercial address that can be used for shipping purposes the order can be shipped by a trucking company to the trucking companies depot nearest your location. In some cases, there may not be a shipping depot near your location and other arrangements may need to be made. Shipments to remote locations may incur additional shipping fee, we will contact you prior to shipping.
Most Thule cargo boxes purchased on our website will be drop shipped directly from one of Thule's warehouses and can be shipped to either a residential or commercial shipping address. We will contact you prior to shipping your order if the order cannot be shipped to the shipping address provided at checkout. Please allow for additional processing time.
Shipping Times by Location
Racks For Cars Inc. strives to ship all in stock orders within 1-2 business days. We aim to get your order to you quickly. Below is a list of approximate shipping times, by location, for orders being shipped within Canada. We consider days to be business days which do not include weekends or holidays. Estimated shipping times do not include the day the package is picked up by the courier or the day the courier delivers the package. Once a package has left our facility we can do nothing to affect the delivery time of your order.

Rack For Cars Inc. will not be held responsible in the case that a shipment does not arrive within the approximate delivery times. Shipping times for items that we have in stock are accurate about 90% of the time. Some items may take longer than anticipated due to circumstances beyond our control.
Orders delivered to the shipping address provided when placing your order may be accepted by any resident of that address. Acceptance of a delivery at that address will be proof that the order was delivered. We mark orders over $300 before shipping and applicable taxes as signature required.
Racks For Cars Inc. reserves the right not to ship any order placed online. We will inform the customer promptly either by email or telephone.
Racks For Cars Inc. reserves the right to cancel orders for certain items purchased individually which are are typically purchased as part of a complete system. These items include, but are not limited to, vehicle specific fit kits, load bars, foot packs, and towers. We will inform the customer promptly by either email or telephone.
If you receive a damaged package it must be reported to the shipping company and Racks For Cars Inc. immediately. This will allow you to submit a damage claim to the shipping company.
For Shipments to the Continental United States
All purchases are in Canadian Dollars. All purchases will be converted by your credit card company on the day the transaction is applied.
Shipping prices will be calculated at checkout based on the value of the order as follows:
- Order sub-totals $400 and up - Shipping and handling charge calculated as 10% of the order subtotal.
- Order sub-totals $50-400 - Shipping and handling charge is $40.
- Order sub-totals $1-50 - Shipping and handling charge is $25.
Some items may incur additional shipping charges and the total shipping and handling charges will be higher than stated above.
Duties, taxes, exchange rates and other charges are the sole responsibility of the purchaser, unless otherwise specified. Not all items we sell can be shipped to the continental United States. Be aware with the current US China trade relationship items which are manufactured in China may incur large charges for duties or tariffs. Customers purchasing items manufactured in China are responsible for any duties and tariffs when importing items from Canada. For any questions regarding this please contact info@racksforcars.com.
Most orders to the continental United States will arrive within 5-10 business days.

Order Cancellation
Effective May 1st, 2021, online, phone, and in-store orders cancelled prior to being shipped or made available for pick up are subject to a cancellation fee equal to 5% of the order total.
