Thule 04952 4 Inch Quick Release Hardware Kit

The Thule 04952 4 Inch Quick Release Hardware Kit is used to mounting older model Thule and SportRack ski and cargo boxes onto crossbars.

The distance from the center of one bolt to the other is 4 inches so it will fit bars up to 3.75 inches wide.

Depending on the model of box you have you may need to drill new holes in to the box. Be sure to not drill the holes to far forwards or too far back on the box.

Included in the bag are a series of plates, bolts, and wingnuts.

How to assemble

1. Assemble hardware onto box before placing on vehicle. Choose the holes to use based on the distance from your front crossbar to your rear crossbar.
   
2. Place small plate inside the box
   
3. Place largest plate under the box
   
4. Place the slotted plate under the larger plate with the curved edges facing down
   
5. Push the bolts up through the plates and box aligning all the holes
   
6. Loosely attach the wing nuts to the bolts inside the box
   
7. Place box onto crossbars
   
8. Position the larger plate under the box but on top of your bars
   
9. Slide the slotted plate under the bar and connect it to the carriage bolt so that it stays in place
   
10. Tighten the wingnuts evenely from inside the box
    
11. Repeat for all 4 corners
