Yakima StepUp - 2 Bike - 2" Hitch

The Yakima StepUp 2 is a sleek, heavy-duty platform hitch bike rack built for riders who want secure transport, quick loading, and everyday ease of use. Designed to carry two bikes up to 65 lbs each, the StepUp is fully compatible with mountain bikes, road bikes, fat bikes, kids’ bikes, and e-bikes. Yakima’s StrongArm wheel hook system secures bikes by the front tire eliminating frame contact and protecting carbon and custom finishes while the StadiumSeating tiered tray design minimizes bike-to-bike interference for a cleaner, more stable ride.

Stadium bike positioning

In order to ensure that your bikes fit onto the rack properly and don't contact one another the StepUp utilizes stadium bike positioning. This means that the outside bike tray sits higher then the inside bike tray.

Fits modern bike standards and geometry

By attaching onto the front and rear wheel only the StepUp has the ability to fit a wide range of bikes. Out of the box the StepUp will carry bikes with up to a 52" wheel base and tires as large as 4.5". The adjustable ratcheting arm gives you the ability to carry smaller kids bike with a minimum of 16" tires all the way up to big 29ers.

Easy rear of vehicle access

The StepUp has an ergonomic lever on the front of the bike rack giving you the ability to tilt the rack down with your bikes loaded in order to get into your back hatch or trunk. This same handle can be used to fold the bike rack up to the back of the vehicle when the bikes are not loaded making it easier to park in tighter spots.

Fully locking

The StepUp includes a cable lock to lock your bikes onto the rack. Once you have tightened the threaded hitch pin you can then lock the rack to your vehicle to prevent someone from being able to remove the bike rack. Lastly the StepUp includes a BYOL (Bring your own lock) feature the gives you the ability to add additional locks

RV Approved

The Yakima StepUp is APPROVED for use on RV's. If the distance from the rear axle to the hitch pin hole on the trailer hitch is 72" or greater than the weight capacity of the StepUp is reduced to 43 lbs per bike.

The Yakima StageTwo is NOT APPROVED for use on a travel trailer, 5th wheel trailer, or towed vehicle.
